The dates are set for our annual Zimbabwe Gravel Travel trip, 13th to 22nd June 2014! We have place for 14 riders this year ( 6 places are already booked).
The trip will be at least 2500km of gravel roads ranging from wide open smooth gravel to "2 spoor" to badly rutted under maintained jeep tracks, with distances of up to 500km per day but averaging around 250km per day.
I recommend experienced gravel riders who are "riding fit" that can maintain a good gravel travel pace. The scenery on this trip is stunning and the route is epic, everyone who has done it once will not miss it every year.
We travel light as possible to keep the bikes easy to handle and maneuver through the terrain. Although the roads are mostly pretty good, some have not seen any maintenance in the last 10 years. The rural areas we will travel through never see tourists, they are remote, unspoilt and stunningly beautiful. There is no back-up vehicle, maintenance and repairs are roadside. This will be a true adventure and an experience of a lifetime.
