Option 4 - same as option 2, but you have your own team of loyal supporters cheering you from the sidelines, hopefully the actual sidelines and not just the virtual ones. SHE'S BEEG!

But of course money dictates everything, we understand.

As far as I know KTM do have a rent a bike skeme that you rent the bike for the duration of the event and then provide some back-up , Think Alfie Cox did his first like that ... don't now if that is still done but could be the cheapest way to get to the Dakar without all the logistics needed ?

I think I managed to remove the David Guetta song from the video that was blocking it.

Here goes again

I must say its not that inspiriting a route. :(

Its not final yet but they say

Argentina 7 stages
Bolivia 4-5 stages
Chile 4 Stages

Rest day will be in Iquique in Chile and the bike rest day will be one day different from the cars and trucks.

There are going to be two marathon stages (i.e two nights without support).

Cool!
I like that it starts and ends in the same place, just because it makes the logistics of a supporters tour so much easier.
Container to Buenos Aires, full of WD supporters bikes, supporters chase Dakar start to finish wildly cheering on a beaming BlueBull, big piss-up to celebrate at the finish, bikes back into same container, home before babelas has lifted.

The gym training is going quite well, though I am still going easy on my leg.

I find the rowing machine pretty good for cardiovascular.

On the riding side I have done some riding but not as much as I would like to. There are big pressures taking place at work at the moment and this is having a negative effect on my riding. I need to try and regain a bit of focus again to be honest, but without revealing too much right now its is very hard. Hopefully this season will be over soon and I can focus more on the preparation. Time marches on and the in just over 40 days the Dakar opens for entries...

Lekka!

Rowing is badass for training, I used an old MX handle bar on the rowing mahcine in Vietnam and eventually added an LCD to flash me the DAKAR lexicon (like flash cards) and sections of road book so I could read em
So much of win it hurts! ^.^
