My experience with Northside . . .

James & Steve in the workshop are ALWAYS pleasant and ALWAYS willing to assist.

As far as the SALES team, I will NEVER, EVER buy a bike from Northside BMW.
On many occasions I have gone there, the sales team are standing outside and smoking.
When you look around the showroom, they DONT greet you and most times just ignore you.

If you want an AWESOME sales experience, go to BAVARIA BMW in Centurion.
I would rather travel to Pretoria than just around the corner to 4ways !

Support the dealerships that treat YOU well.

I have dealt with Northside in the past and was never ecstatic about the service. But I can say that Anton is one awesome sales guy and hope this is a turning point for them. :thumleft:

I deal as little possible with BMW, partly because I can't afford their toys, but also because I pick up a real snobbish scent inside

I bought my 800GS from Northside, and the service i recieved was fair to average...not exeptional by any means. The guys in the workshop were fantastic, really a pleasure dealing with them.

I just bought a 1200 GSA lc from Pinnicale BMW in Secunda.... Thier service was nothing short of excellent in every respect.

I have dealt with Alpina, Lyndhurst and Northside......in future Pinnicle will get my $$

Just saying.
He who dies with the most toys, wins !!!!!

I bought my bike from Paris Motorrad.  No muffins (or croissants, for that matter) but they do have coffee.  Between about 5 or 6 sales persons they shifted 360 new bikes last year, so they are quite busy.  In spite of a substantial language barrier I was treated very well and professionally. The shop is less glitzy than I thought it would be. In the end I was the one who gave them some good SA wine in appreciation but it was more PR than anything else.  I did get a 1500 Euro discount which more than made up for the few bottles of wine.  But there is little snobbishness about the brand here.  It can hardly keep up with Ferrari, Maseratti, Lamborgini and who knows what else.  BMW (as a brand) is fairly average among the names here so no need to pretend too much.  And big bikes don't really feature because, by law, they have a 107hp limitation on power.  I still have to experience the technical service though.  I hope that they are as good as Zambesi, who always gave me great service.
I started biking as an under achiever and it went downhill from there...

Jip, Anton is a very nice guy and also on this forum. Spoke to him yesterday again. Never had any issues with them, except that their services and spares are more expensive than Bavaria, + loanbikes at Baravria is more readily available.

I often walk into ktm centurion just to have a coffee, without buying/looking or even talking to anyone except the coffee making dude who is rather rude at times.
Hulle koffie is fokken lekker.

Sales mense oor die algemeen is maar.... :peepwall:

Funny this, I have had a horror experience at BMW Boksburg where I cancelled a deal after delivery. Demo bike was in an accident and wasn't told....!
I have also bought from Triumph/Kawasaki in Boksburg where I was treated very fairly so long as I was buying a bike, no communication after the purchase and after I moved to BMW I was treated like a plague.( worst thing to do is slate other brands to sell your own as there are very few differences between quality now days and they are built for different purposes) I might be in the market for a scrambler.. wont go back there!!
Ryan and Simon from Northside gave me outstanding service from the first time I went into the showroom,( no slating of Katoom or Triumph) service department is by far the best I've dealt with and ended up buying an 800 GSA.

Everyone has there own experiences and expectations I guess?

Very true, I had excelent service from auto alpina in the, there are other dealers, which i will not mention, which really did disappoint me.
