I'm building a custom R65 airhead and plan on fitting the battery under the engine, just in front of the rear wheel. The battery should lie on it's side in order to fit properly. Can anyone recommend a good quality VALUE for money battery. Note that it will get a little hot back there but I've seen it done on many builds so I'm going to assume it's doable.
Startline sell a battery (not sure of make) with the following details:
DZ18
length:186mm
width:82mm
height:171mm
R 868.00
The lady at StartLine tells me the battery can lie on it's side meaning height becomes 82mm therefore I am assuming it's a sealed battery.
I'm in the Midrand, Kyalami area.
You suggestions would be appreciated.
