2014 Rally dos Sertoes will arrive in Belo Horizonte for the first time
Dunas Race announces the capital of Minas Gerais state to host the arrival of its 22th edition in August
One of the most off-road regions of Brazil, with trails, hills and beautiful landscapes will welcome the arrival of the 22th edition of the Rally dos Sertoes. The Dunas Race - the event organizer - announced on Monday (17th) the city of Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais state, as host of the 2014 finish of the race.
The rally will begin with a prologue on August 23rd in Goiania (GO) and part of the 24th towards Belo Horizonte, where the champions of another edition will be announced on the 30th. With a caravan that moves about 2000 people, messing with the economy and the behavior of the towns through which it passes, the rally will be one of the attractions of the state capital in 2014, since the city is also one of the venues of the FIFA World Cup in July.
The Sertoes has passed twice in Belo Horizonte: in 1993, when the event was created, and in 1997.
"We are very happy to announce the arrival of the rally in Belo Horizonte. Minas Gerais is a state that is synonymous with off-road, whether for their amazing trails or by strong competitors who always showed for the rally. Apart from Belo Horizonte, in 1993 and 1997, the Sertoes have had in other 15 cities in Minas Gerais over these his 22 years. I'm sure it will be a big party to finalize a new edition that promises the same challenges and the same adrenaline", said Marcos Moraes, CEO of Dunas Race.
Five categories will be disputed in the Sertoes: cars, bikes, quads, UTVs and trucks. Like last year, the dispute of bikes and quads will be valid for the 5th round of the World Rally Cross Country FIM (International Motorcycling Federation). Several national and international rally stars will be in the dispute.
As in past editions, the rally will also keep your social and environmental actions aimed at helping and guiding the population of the towns through which it passes.
Besides the support of the Governments of Goias and Minas Gerais, the Sertoes already announced some of their sponsors for the 22nd edition: Mitsubishi Motors, Polaris and Seotres Cosmetics. And many new features are coming.
