I just delved into the HD's for the first time. Here's a pic of my Breakout.

I'm in the process of 'customizing' it to my preferences. I must say its lots of fun, I'm actually surprised as to how much I'm enjoying it.

I just love the Harley's and thanks for all the information and pictures Mother! Your dad is a 'cool dood' still riding at 78 and seems he would probably still be on that trike for years to come! Respect :thumleft:

I am more into a touring Harley and once my ship docks will be looking at anything with a bit of wind protection and fit for 1000km a day if I feel like it. The street glide sure looks great as well as the road king but must say the new (cheap @ R135K) Extra low rider 1200T with quick release windshield is worth a second look.

As for the water cooled Harleys......just have a look at the cast wheels. I don't say it is not 'Harley'; of course it is, but surely will not be up to US manufacturers standards, that I can assure you. Who knows, maybe it will open many opportunities for guys who love the brand (like me) but is on a tight budged. All I can say it it already evident just by looking at the picture that the workmanship is not 'up there'

Here is a picture of a HD which I find soft on the eye  ;)

One of our club members was invited to join the Hampster club in the US. A very different club comprising of custom bikes started in the 70's. Very talented bike builders belong to this club, two famous ones are the Ness and Perewitz families.
They have been going to Sturgis since day one basically. They take over a nearby town ,and the town has actually called a part where they stay Hamster Hill.
The only rule is it has to be custom and it has to be ridden to Sturgis, sometimes a ride of 2500 miles one way.
A few of the bikes ,the first our mate Gary from Cape Town.

Man! I love those low an slow ones!!!

I do not think if I was in the position to buy one I'd go for the tourers, I think they're getting a bit excessive nowadays, but the minimalist ones I love! Like the breakout.
Don't dress for the ride,........dress for the fall!

Could also be a tank under the seat visible under his upper leg?

Nope, that's an oil tank. It's big enough that the battery is probably in there too..

Tank below his right thigh. That bike was built in the states. Your not more minimalist than that

Interesting...
So where's oil & battery then?
Not a long distance machine by any stretch is it ?
It has some very familiar styling cues, I am trying to place the builder, do you know if was Hotmatch by any chance ?
