KTM 640 Adv 2005 - What kind of clutch fluid to use
« on: March 24, 2014, 02:13:59 pm »
Hi Guys,

A friend needs assistance with his clutch.
The owners manual refers to biodegradable hydraulic oil SAE10 however it also says never refill with Mineral Hydraulic oil.
On top of the reservoir it states "use Mineral Oil only".

We are confused...........

What should be used???

Motorex clutch fluid, R75,00 for a bottle.

We are in Phalaborwa, the TVs is still working with paraffin, ha,ha.......

Any alternative to the Motorex 75?

Will mineral based hydraulic fluid used for power steering applications work?

Yes no problem. Just dont use brake fluid.

We were in a emergency on the weekend and had a problem getting the right oil. Sprocketbek suggested using baby oil and it worked a charm.

Also now I have the left overs for home use.  :deal:
