The French car manufacturer Peugeot, four times winner of the Dakar Rally , Wednesday announced his return to the race in 2015 with three cars, one of them piloted by Spanish Carlos Sainz.

Finally the rumors began to be strong in December 2013 came true. Yes, so far only confirmed one of the three names that were in the pipeline, the Spanish Carlos Sainz of .

At the wheel of another vehicle will be Frenchman Cyril Despres , who is leaving the competition in bikes with five titles and move on to the vehicles. The French brand has not yet decided who will be the third man for the Dakar 2015.

Peugeot also announced through its director Bruno Famin , the model chosen for the race will be announced at the Beijing Motor Show in late April.

"We want to be prepared to fight for the win , with all the humility that we must take this test and to our opponents ," he added .

The main challenge of Peugeot in his return be Carlos Sainz , 51 , winner of the World Rally Championship in 1990 and 1992 and Dakar in 2010 ( Volkswagen) .

"It's a very experienced pilot , an exceptional man with incredible charisma ," said the director of Peugeot Sports.

The other name is announced on Wednesday Cyril Despres , 39, winner of the Dakar Rally five times in the motorcycle category .

"It will take two to four wheels and we will bring its relative youth . With a pure pilot , their sense of browsing and reading terrain , be known to adapt very quickly, " said Famin .

" We still do not know the name of the third driver ," he added .

Recall that Peugeot won four times ( 1987 to 1990) the Dakar Rally , which in 2009 began to be played in South America after terrorist threats forced to suspend in 2008 in Africa.

With Sebastion Loeb on the way for 2016. Going to be an impressive 4 man team.

So Cyril bows out to the dominance of Coma and KTM. ;D I love it.

You should change the topic to "Cyril moves to cars in Dakar 2015"

Oliver Pain could win, he is just getting stronger and stronger each year, and he is not a wild card like Bang Bang.

Me thinks that is exactly why he left bikes, knowing that Yammie just aint gonna do it, for now that is.  :peepwall:  Too many years of development possibly ahead, and he does not want to be eating the dust of Coma & Sunderland!!!  ;) :pot:  Nevertheless the man is a legend, and a reall pity that he is going to cages. Natural progression I suppose as they become toppies.

he packs it in the crate. Has done 50 000+ ;) >:D

50 000+ km for the 600E… Nee man… Am sure 2StrokeDan will point out that this means the bike is just nicely run-in.  :deal:   ;D
