I have a 1980 XT 500 in very good condition. My dad bought the bike new and till this day kept everything stock standard, from the exhaust to the mirrors and flickers, everything. The bike still runs smoothly and starts easy and I think it stands at +-19 000 original km's.
I am looking for someone to renovate the bike, I want it to look brand new again, there are some minors issues like blown bulbs and a small dent on the top of the tank and the plastics like the mudguard and side covers are disintegrating due to age.
Now because this bike is quite special to me I don't want to work on it, I am scared I will make a mess of it and don't want just anyone working on it. I want to send it to someone with a passion for these bikes and who really knows what he is doing. I want this bike to look the day it did when my dad bought it. So where do I find this magical person to help me?
