New rear brake pads yesterday. R320 from pitlane and free installation from BMW

Just did the rear pads on our two LC's myself.   If BMW charged you,  it would have been criminal.   The second bike took me 4 minutes,  no tools required.

New rear brake pads yesterday. R320 from pitlane and free installation from BMW

So,  my LC will request rear brake pads soon.   The wife is off on some art class thingy,  so I decided to try Full Throttle. for the pads.   As I leave,  I remember I have a set for my 09 which I never fitted.  I take them along.  Maybe,  I could,  with some slick talk convince them to sort off make a swop.

I suggest this to the sales dude,  showing the pads are still wrapped and all.   He looks at me like I have just arrived from a madhouse. ...   on Mars.   He gently explains to me that these pads are the same as those required for the LC.

I will go check in awhile.  If that sales dude is wrong I am going to be really damoerin with him.  If he was right,  I would be really damoerin with myself.

Sales dude = dead.   Pads not the same.  Exact same shape,  but LC pads are bigger.   For those interested in the SBS number:

Pre-LC: 742LS
LC: 674LS
Any place in PTA where I can get the 674LS pads? From Bavarian they cost R1114 per set  :eek7:

And, would the fitment of a brand other than what BMW use void the warrantee?

They should be available from any bike store such Full Throttle,  World. of Accessories,  etc.   I. can't say it won't void the warranty,  but I would be very surprised if it did.

At worst they can void the warranty on the disc,  but even that would be a stretch.

Lenny and crowd at Bavarian knows and have for years known,  that I do pads myself.   In fact,  when my wife's bike was in for its last service,  Pierre checked it and after checking pads said to her:" Better call hubby to go buy some pads"

I was just as surprised that I made it to 9000km on the Tyres.

On my previous 2009 GSA I could only manage 7000 on the Anakees.
