Here is my invoice for my 10k service R1480 and my gear shift assist was replaced under warrantee Bavaria bmw is the business

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey Bryan, just as a matter on interest, why did they have to replace your shift assist?

i am having my 10k service done at Bavarian next tuesday?

i need to replace tyres, so my service cost is going to be huge.  :(

Gear shift assist was not working properly, I had to decelerate to change gears which defeats the purpose

Yeah my back tyre is also finished at 10k, just the back tyre though

That is not bad either. I though it would be around R2.5k. I actually have all my old GS service and parts invoices from when I got my first Dakar in 1999 and my GS in 2006.

On my 10k service and that of my wife's bike,  they checked the air filter.   It is on the list for checking,  but not replacing unless required.

Had the front brakes lock up last week, got stuck on the N1 south for 20min before it released.

Drove it to Bavarian, they reported front brakes needed to be replaced, R 2600 later   :o

Could not believe it is R 1000 / set of brake pads.  >:(

Problem seems solved.

Edd , I would not leave it there ......

Just a gut feeling .... They should have checked the pads .... For 10 K " normal " use .....unless you turned into a hooligan after  10k ???
