Had the front brakes lock up last week, got stuck on the N1 south for 20min before it released.

Drove it to Bavarian, they reported front brakes needed to be replaced, R 2600 later   :o

Could not believe it is R 1000 / set of brake pads.  >:(

Problem seems solved.

I. can't see how worn pads will cause the brakes to lock up?   Makes no sense.

Me neither. Unless they were totally worn out and the caliper's pistons went out too far and got stuck? But that would point to a design issue or something then. Just speculating.

Nope, I think they are taking you for a ride.

1000km service Euro 112.  That's about R1555,00 at today's rate.
I started biking as an under achiever and it went downhill from there...

I would also raise this BMW head office as well as the dealer, especially that it had its 10k service 2k earlier. How did they get to R2.6k? Two sets of pads at R800 each plus 15 min labour, this cant be R800. If so did they at least use KY?

Not service, but part of maintenance...

New rear Anarkee 3 fitted at Bavarian for just under R2200. This was at 12500km.

I paid R3100 at Eastview for a new rear last week. They charged R350 for fitment

Het my R9T by Zambesi gehad vir 20k diens.

Was dieselfde prys vir my LC op 10K diens. Moet sę, Bavarian (Centurion) se pryse is nog altyd billik.

Nee.
