I've been on a Low/no Carb diet now from Nov 2016, also swopped my MTB for a pair of takkies. Lost 12kg in 3 months, must admit Dec was a challange... still drinking beer and will have a pizza from time to time, but no more bread, putu, patatoes or rice.

running now 5-10 km every 2nd day, feel so confident that I have entered the 2OC 21KM in April.

Not really hard work, I enjoy sea food, meat and vegetables, not a sweet or desert person and it is just a carb elimination issue. I actually enjoy the food. If I can eat bacon, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms for breakfast and a bolognaise sauce with stuffed green peppers or cauliflower rice I am 100% cool with it.
We have to start wondering...what kind of world are we going to leave Keith Richards?

You will love it, it is a stunning race! :thumleft:

Some tips to make it even better (I have done 10)
  • Make sure you are comfortable with long hills :eek7:. There is one up Edinburg Drive within the first 5 km and then the real "separator-of-men-from-boys" is the 3 km up Southern Cross >:D >:D
  • Unless you are an elite runner and start in the first group, do not try to run a PB in this race!. 16000 people is a lot, the road is clogged up :imaposer: Rather enjoy the scenery, the local supporters and the vibe. If you are in the back lot (like me) you are bound to meet up with Michelle, a legendary local :lol8: :lol8: Short lady, middle-aged and very vocal - from the start to the finish!!

Apparently the HPCSA are challenging the Noakes not guilty verdict, seems they are desperate to get a result in their favour.  It makes you wonder why.
