Has anyone actually tried the camera warnings, and does it work?

For the traffic and the Camera warnings you need to pay subscription of R 239.00 each.  >:(

Yes, I know. And I will pay with a smile if we know that it actually works and warnings will help. If it is of no practical effect it is obviously a waste of money

The V also display all the sensor data from the bike on the GPS

Where on the menu do I find this?, haven't looked for it yet?

Find the picture of the motorcycle.

Be nice there are two pictures of motorbikes on that screen

:imaposer: I was being nice. I could have said: "If you cannot figure out how to work the GPS with picture menus, you should rather buy from Mapstudio!" :peepwall:

On the garmin website you can choose a free trial option for R0.00

The website will actually tell you of the connected device is compatible.

With pleasure, it is rather difficult to recognise :pot:

In fairness I have to point out that the My Motorcycle Apps - A collection of three BMW specific Apps on the NAV5, are only accessible if the NAV5 is or has been connected to a 2013+ GS or 2014+ GS Adventure using the BMW GPS [Navigation] Preparation Mount: not the Four Button Mount. These are some interesting Apps and although somewhat redundant with the Instrument Cluster information, they provide a lot of data to the rider both on and off of the bike that the Instrument Cluster does not. - See more at: http://globeriders.com/article_pages/article07_gps/article07_nav5.shtml#sthash.A78E98qB.dpuf

Does the navigator V come with maps for life? Or is there a cost to upgrading the maps?

Seriously? So you have to pay for the GPS and again for the maps? Can you purchase lifetime maps?

Yes, you buy lifetime maps over the internet, download via internet, and ready to go.  Small download really. I bought maps of Southern Africa that includes all our neighbouring countries, and I think the download is not even 300MB

Het jy lifetime maps vir die Nav V gekry, wat ek van Pauli en die manne wat weet verstaan het, was dat jy elke jaar nuwes sal moet koop vir die Zumos en die Navs?

The price was $99. I see it is still the same price.

Yes, it is a lifetime map. Read more here: http://www.garminonline.co.za/epages/Garmin.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Garmin/Products/010-11651-00

Ek sal vanaand die presies website adres kry waarvan ek gedownload het en gekoop het. Sal dit post hier.

I still can't believe BMW will sell you a GPS without maps??? I mean, you buy a GPS anywhere and it has preloaded maps. Am I missing something here? Or misunderstanding it?

Regardless, you pay for the maps. This way you get to choose if you want Garmin or T4A. Many riders choose the latter.
