Last Chance!!!

End of the month will see ANOTHER massive hike in petrol price, so this is probably the cheapest race that you will do....ever again.

(Souding like a Verimark add) But wait there is more...

Whilst sitting at home today, Clive and Ockert went the extra mile and finished up the marking of the track, and from what I saw yesterday, it is superb.

The land owners is fully committed to the event, the catering and refreshments will be top notch.

What is more, there will be a drone, a fixed wing plane and a camara man on the ground capturing the action - you will be able to easily Google and proof your racing prowess afterwards, just shunt it from the word go, and then have a laugh at yor buddies mishaps.  :evil6:

Racers from as far as Upington and Kakamas is attending, and some well known national riders as well.

The track:

Went out there yesterday with serious misgivings after the heavy rainfall during the week - completely unfounded.
Had a camara, but had so much fun twisting the throttle that I completely forgot about it..

The sand was firm and I could rail the berms one after the other - almost trance like.

So guys and gals - miss this one at your own peril!

Consider this a warning - entries close on Wednessday, 23 July 2014

Dewald (box of the Best - these farmers grow potatoes, drink wine & brandy, maybe you can brew some moonshine)

Loop is 28 KM - my guess top guys 40-45min per loop (3yrs ago loop was 38km took top guys +1 hour  Brett Lewis nogal)
Shorter & little more technical this time but proper workout. :lol8:
Juniors have a nice free flowing loop too  :thumleft:

Quads will do the bikes a big favour by flattening the deep ruts in first 10km - yes some are going to get stuck in some places but it will be good after the first 5-10 quads have opened it up and filled the deep ruts.

Key words MOMENTUM MOMENTUM where you see sandy banks & uphill pieces, GAS it they are misleading and can trap you - enuf said.

Please note: with Friday rain, the gravell road from the village to pits (1.5km) will get muddy & slippery BUT it is hard under the mud - two wheel drive cars will be able to get to pits.

entries are coming nicely - thank you !

Hi Dave,

Can the kiddies that are not racing ride on the kiddie track? My son (7) is on a CRF 50. No MSA license, no boots or body armor. Ride with helmet and elbow/knee guards.

Would like to bring him along for the fun. Will pay for him off course.

Thx.

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

In addition to broken ribs on either side i ruptured two discs in the lumber region of my back and have numbness in my
right leg. Surgeon says i am not allowed to move off my back for 2 weeks afterwhich he will have another look and see if surgery is required.

How are your injuries healing?

Based on the forecast, you are going to have to use your IF rating to operate that flying machine of yours.

It is all related to the off I had with Simon. The back I actually hurt in the gym a week after the off, but I suspect that it was already injured due to the off and the session in the gym just highlighted it.

Good to hear that you are recovering well; what is the issue with the hip?
