Tyres for LC
« on: May 19, 2014, 08:12:46 pm »
Why is it that there is apparently a struggle to find tyres for the LC? Anakee 3 it seems is forever and everywhere out of stock, and so is the Karoo3.

Why does BMW bring out a bike with limited options and stock that is hard to find?

Local dealer also complains about this every day, and say they have endless headaches with getting tyres.

Maybe I should rather cross to the dark side, again???...

Try the KTM dealers for a conti trail attack 2. Had them on my 1190 adv and came on the gs. Best tyre ive ever had IMHO.

Can't go high speed on the Karoo.  Conti is ok on a gravel road and sticks like sh*t to a blanket on the tar and is not noisy and lasted 8500km on my 1190 ;) with the traction control off.....

I cannot even imagine how to ride the LC to get beyond 4500km with TC on, 8500km is not even in my frame of reference. Keep us informed on your choice and mileage.

The Karoo 3 handles higher speeds on tar quite well.  Got 2800 km on mine doing 120 + VAT on tar for a weekend.

Ek begin dink daar is fout met my.
