Semi-synth (Shell Advance) OK for DR650?
« on: February 21, 2008, 12:39:28 pm »
I asked this weekends visitors to bring me some goodies so I can service the bike. He got Shell Advance. I know it's expensive and overkill and all that but I have it now and want to use it.
Should I?

ICM the bike is on 20K and it's 15W-50.
BobNob, thanks, he got it because there's a bike on the container - didn't look at the price/spec etc!

I think he said about R300 for 4L at AutoZone - probably Strand. I'll only have the exact price when it gets here tonight.

Expensive but good. My DR's do 100000km+ on Caltex Delo Gold which is half price.
Used Total Quartz 9000 synth. for a while, also fine.
