Cops take 15 bikes, arrest 12

Johannesburg - Twelve people were arrested and 15 motorbikes were impounded during a Sunday-morning road block on the N3, east of Johannesburg, said Ekurhuleni metro police.
Police set up a road block on the N3, near Linksfield, in a northerly direction about 05:00.
Inspector Jimmy Maboko said the aim of the road block was to target drivers with outstanding fines and no licence plates.
Maboko said "a lot of" bikers drove without licence plates to avoid getting caught speeding.
"We have zero tolerance for these drivers," Maboko said.
By 10:00 police had impounded 15 motorbikes and 12 drivers had been arrested for outstanding fines.
