Hi guys this is my first attempt at a ride report and my trip through Namibia seems worthy of my first attempt.

I have been working in Brazil for the last 7 weeks and flew into Windhoek on my way home.
The guys at Karoo biking hooked me up with a BMW R1200GS Adv fitted with a set if Mitas E07's. Luggage wise they've supplied me with BMW panniers and a Ortlieb bag.

I had my riding gear sent up with the bike so first on the to-do list was to sort my luggage.

The first thing I noticed before heading out on the bike was these cracks on the rear tyre.

Apparently these Mitas tyres are known to do this? Karoo Biking has offered to refund me on the tyre if I feel I want to fit another rear tyre, but they say the Mitas tyre will last the trip. I'll see how it goes.
From here I'm heading to Swakopmund and will come back trough Windhoek in a few days. If it's getting worse then I'll look at replacing the tyre.

Day one was spent getting used to the bike and shopping for last minute supplies.
Ended off the day at Joe's beer garden for a few Tafels and a great pork neck steak.
