Redone DRZ seat
« on: June 15, 2014, 07:19:33 pm »
After seeing the recent HP2 seat that was recovered, I took mine to Flying Brick. I asked for some extra width, softer foam and 10mm taller. I took a little test ride today and it is far better. The seat is still thin while standing but nice and comfy for the long stretches. I am very satisfied with the results.

Comfort on a bike should not be a 'trend'.....

Comfort on a bike is a basic Human Right! Viva!

Thanks, Ian!

Yes, the Flying Brick Store is in SHROPSHIRE street, Paarden Eiland, basically the road BEHIND TRAC-MAC, Yamaha, KTM, etc.

Bring your seat in when ready.
Cheers

Chris would you be able to lower the seat on my SE but keep it relatively comfortable?

Zebra, can you work just from a seat pan, or do you need the complete seat?

He could work from the seat pan, but you would need to provide him a printed-out PICTURE, or better still, just this time, meet with him at my Store, and make sure you are BOTH in agreement about what needs doing/seat shape, etc.

Cheers!

I'm also interested in having this done on my DR-Z 400's seat.  It looks really good.
Since it's been a few months since the initial posts, can anybody comment on their long(er) term experience with this mod?  Still happy with it?  More comfortable than stock?  Etc.
Many thanks.
Bikes owned: 1984 Suzuki RG50 Gamma, 1981 Suzuki GSX750E, 1991 Suzuki GSX-R 1100, 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 750, 2011 Triumph Tiger 1050, 2010 Suzuki DR-Z 400, 2011 Honda CBR250R (OK this is my daughter's bike but I bought it, so there), 2015 Triumph Tiger 800XCx, 2008 Yamaha XT660R, 2019 BMW F850GS   ...my favourite?  Every single one of them, for different reasons. ...but maybe the GSX-R750.

It is still good. The foam has not compressed and the material is still tight and undamaged. Rides are still far more comfortable than before.
