Makekeng Long Weekend
« on: June 16, 2014, 10:22:40 am »
(From the planning a ride thread it seems Makekeng needs more advertising? Guys please drop your pics and stories of the weekend here!)

On Friday 13th I decided since I have never seen Makekeng and since there were going to be some (awesome) peeps there; I would ride down on Saturday for a one night sleepover.

I left Lephalale around 11am and took a leisurely tar cruise (150km on R518) down through the pass to Makekeng.
Unfortunately I enjoyed myself so much over these 2 days that there are very few pics, relying heavily on the others to beautify this RR  :ricky:

The Saturday afternoon was so much fun even the "poh-lees" joined in  :3some:
Rasta (caretaker of makekeng) was quite entertaining too  :imaposer:

Really beautiful scenery, I am looking forward to a longer stay next time to facilitate some day-trip riding tracks in the area.

I was treated to shows of 950SE and XR400 sinking their back wheels, loved it  >:D

The whole setup is very well thought out and built. Hot water from the donkey. Bunk beds more than adequate (Swifty says he prefers being on top, I rather like being on the bottom).

Thanks for the great company, I enjoyed listening to the ol' toppies stories, even though I am the "when-we"  ;)

So, can't wait for next time  :thumleft:
