From FB:

Victory!!!!!
David Reeve officially has successfully completed the 2015 Dakar Rally!!!!!!! I announce that with tears in my eyes and so much joy in my heart! We knew he had more than enough skills and determination but Dakar has different plans for the riders & does it's best to knock you down and out! This is David's 1st podium (Dakar) finish, we'll have to check back with his wife in a couple months to see if it's his last.  He proved the old saying "Third times a charm." Well done David! Well done!!!!!!!
Today marks Freedom Rally Racing 4th Dakar medal! Can't even begin to put into words how great of an accomplishment that is and how much pride I have in our team! Getting to the finish of the 2 week rally is a year long journey. An entire team of mechanical, logistical, labor and moral support pouring their hearts, souls and more hours than we'd ever admit, just to get to the starting line.
This was a hard year working up to the Dakar for Scott and I without the support and financial backing of Michael Stanfield after his passing. There were many times in the year we questioned if we could pull it off without him. He was the driving force and the man who made FRR possible the previous 4 years. Scott having the same passion as Mike, we did it! I'm sure the team made Mike proud! Scott mentioned he felt Mike's presence at the Dakar with him! I believe that true! Mike continues to be the FRRs biggest supporter!
Scott Spears, you continue to make me the proudest wife in the World!!!!!!
Congratulations and thank you to everyone on the team and everyone that has supported us on our journey!!!
David Reeve's Zambia Dakar 2013 Challenge thank you for partnering with Freedom Rally Racing again this year!!!

Wow! What a roller coaster Dakar we had this year. I went thru so many emotions and I was not even there...

Biggest thanks to all the dogs that kept this thread alive! I followed every post.

Then to all the finishers...
Geniel, Poulter, van Staden well done in the bakkies.
Hannes well done on the quad and hope to see you again in 2016 (you changed my feelings about quads a bit, come next year I might like it more).
Albert well done on the Malles, you have to be a bit mal I think to do this class but you my man are made of steel. Esp making it in the Salt Dakar. And David our brother from a mother in another country. Well done and hope to see you go at it again, you really started doing well towards the end.

Then the guys that did not make it to the end! Please never give up and go for it, you guys must push on and live our F5 punshers dreams! Routing for you guys(Riaan, Brian and Wessel)!

Lastly, Brett... Come on... 2016 is waiting for you boet!

I wonder if Sam Sunderland is feeling nervous after Price managed a 3rd on his first try. And Sam's never made it past the first week...

This is going to be a little mushy but following the Dakar is my annual motivator....

SteveD, alanB and other regular updaters......I thank you. Saves me having to open my trap and illustrate how much I don't know about Rally racing.  ;)

Coma, I think he's probably got some mixed feelings about this win, happy for winning obviously and a calculating riding god he is but most likely also feeling a bit cheated about BB.

I'm glad Honda saw a podium place. As a team, they sincerely deserve it and our princess....wow, always grinning....awesome attitude! As for BB, it's awesome to see how he's evolved from last year. Despite not getting anywhere, he's reached Alien status in my book.

As for the Malle-Moto okes, one can only aspire to have a fraction of their tenacity and stamina.....well done lads.

To all the competitors, thanks for inspiring the rest of us to do what we do....better! For me, this race leaves me feeling somewhat inadequate. This thread allows an observer like myself to establish a personal distance relationship with so many of the competitors.

Now work can reach normal levels of productivity again....  :o
