I am the proud owner of my second GS 1200 L C 2014 model. The bike has been for its first service which was done on 1030 km.
I have noticed a strange noise between 3 and 4 thousand revs, sounds like a chain dragging or rubbing against something in the motor.
The bike was booked into the dealer to diagnose the noise as well as the gear box that is very sticky between 3rd and 4th gear on the down change.
Both valve covers where removed by the dealer and i noticed that the chain which runs from the right bank to left bank runs on a chain guide that is not fixed but floated only on the left side of the motor.
Can anybody shed any light on this matter or has any body had similar problems. I have compared my grandsons 2013 LC to my 2014 engine great deal more noisy on the 2014
