Side stand switch bypass
« on: July 10, 2014, 01:59:24 pm »
Has anyone bypassed their side stand switch? Is it easy enough for an idiot like me to do or is something like the rally raid plug the best option?

AFAIK, Rally Raid just supplies the KTM part? I ordered the KTM part 2 weeks ago from Trax KTM (Pretoria east), and got it yesterday. R350. Same as Rally raid, but without the R160 shipping. Still need to install, but think they might have ordered an extra one that's on their shelves? Ask Nico at Trax.

Possible alternative: I know with the X-Challenge you can remove the switch from the side-stand and simply cable-tie it somewhere under the seat. But still have it connected. No cutting wires, etc.
That way it is still there and only cost you a cable-tie

Maybe this it possible on the 690?

Aparently difficult to bypass because of two currents or something I don't understand. Ordered plugs from KTM

2.2kOhm resistor between the black and pink wire. I have tested it and it works. I have not been able to source the connector locally.

From Supermotojunkie

Quote
If anyone still gives a shit just remove the sensor cut the plug off from the harness side , a pink blue and black wire should be left, cap the blue wire it will not be used put a 2.2 K ohm resistor between the pink and black wires , presto you are finished , don't waste your money on the ktm fooler module.

I personally will want to keep my sidestand switch as long as possible, as that is how I switch the thing off  :P

I carry the dummy plug with me, just in case...
