Ok so Ive been having a problem with the charging system on my bike for a while. Sometimes when I turn the bike on the gen light comes on and sometimes its doesn't. On longer trips its resulted in the battery not being charged.
Last weekend on one the occasions when the gen light was on, I checked the voltage across the battery and it was reading 13.5v up to 13.78 at higher revs (which I take it is normal) so when it works it works.
Why would this gen light be coming on and off intermittently? Where should I start? Is there a way to check if its the bulb, whether it is the rotor?
There's a lot of info out there on this but no-one seems to be able to condense into a succinct post, so if anyone has done it and can put it into laymans simple terms that would be awesome !
