LC Recall - Battery
« on: July 28, 2014, 01:17:21 pm »

:imaposer:

http://www.nippynormans.com/products/cymarc/r1200gs-lc-adventure/item/cymarc-r1200gsa-lc-adjustable-screen-strengthening-brackets-pair-black-cym-cy260314assb
Works great, although now 3 knobs to turn but no,zero flex :ricky:

Does it really work, my feeling is it is not just the bracket but the positioning as well. The mounting is more toward the bottom which leaves the top of the screen more unstable. The brackets help but still use the same mounting points.

I don't care about the effort to adjust, making it adjustable on the move is what caused the problem. The old Adventure screen was perfect, you could adjust the angle if you wanted to but once in position I never changed it in al the years I had it. I have no idea why they had to go and f*ck around with it. I still can't believe German quality control would allow a flimsy design like this.

I love the adjustbale screen on the GS. For technical riding I drop it down to the lowest position and back up when on the highway.

I did find that it's worse on the larger GSA screen when I rode it.

So do I, but like I said earlier, the screen on my wife's bike is already so loose that it rattles and seems like it will come off any day soon.  This on a bike that does no off-road work.

Love and need are two different things, I think you lower it on technical riding because it looks less likely to fall off when you do that. Again I do not remember any instance on my old GSA where I felt the need to lower the screen. Even if I did, I definitely did not need to do it while on the move.
