Again, why? Most of us buy it for those exact reasons. A 1200 GS without the boxer will just not be right!

YES YES and YES.

Buy one now.

Keyless is the only extra feature that you cant get now. But is it worth an extra R15000 ? No

had the GSA LC since they first came out, would i wait for the 2015,,,,,, no.   just for key-less, no.

,,,,would i buy a GSA LC again, YES dam right i would.

i did 7500 kms in the first month, so mileage climbing. maybe i will get to 50 000 in 2015 then i will the key-less one,  and pass on to my son.

air cooled GSA great - but it is a donkey compered to new.
Looks like the keyless model has been put on ice, will not come to market...

Feedback today from a customer with a 2014 (2 hours old) K51 (LCA).

BMW H/O worried about possible key failure in a remote location, so sticking wih a regular key going forward...

Cheers

Well, I started this thread to see what the guys who owned the new LC thought of it.

After all the positive replies, I bought an "olive green machine" and it is awesome.

You can definitely feel the extra power on the back wheel - the increased torque is what does it for me.

I laughed at the speedo cruise at first, now I cant go to the cafe and back without using it, awesome feature.

On the down side, the engine does sound very kak - will need help with a CAT removal or a aftermarket exhaust. Not loud and irritating mind you, just a bit more manly and less sewing machine like.

Costs over R270k with all accessories, damn expensive as none of you old accessories can be moved over.

Would I buy again, yes, but I do actually miss my old 1200 GSA - was really an awesome machine.

This is my third GSA so I feel confident in making comparisons between old and new. A tip for the old 1200 GSA owners - de cat the damn bike, especially if you have a fairly new model - 2011 to 2013 - the bike just goes so much better.

My 2c worth. Cheers.

Good choice, I had a new 2013 GSA with all the farkels on, and now my lc GSA, I totally agree with all above. And btw, you bought the right colour, as the olive green is the faster one of the three available colours............

Never owned one.
No desire to ride a block of flats - no matter how comfortable or how good. It is still a block of flats on 2wheels!  :pot:
Personal choice.  :thumleft:
Think I will wait for a proper adventure bike like perhaps the new Honda Africa Twin could be.  :pot:
Probably won't have recalls either -read 14 on KTM so far. How many on the BMW? And to spend R270k for it? Née wat - doesn't make sense. And it's not about affordability for me - it's the principle. :patch:

In 5 yrs from now, don't think your Africa Twin(if Honda decide to catch a wake up) won't cost an arm and a leg?better you buy something now?

Not my place to criticise here, but I think that it is a wise decision from BMW to hold off with KI for now. Especially on a offroad tourer.
