Ive heard the Anakee wild rumors for over a year now, nothing to date in real life.

The only way to sort this is to get old rims on my LC, that way I can get stock of tyres.

Well, you can get TKC80, Karoo 3, Trail Attack 2 and Anakee 3. I think you should also be able to source some TKC70. What more does one really need? Yes, Mitas would have been very nice, but I am sure we can deal with what we have, right?

Has any one fitted the TKC 80's and shared some of their experiences with these tyres on the forum?

Tried "searching" the forum, but could not find anything specific on the TKC 80 for the LC BMW. (K50) (apologies if I missed it....)

I enquired about the Karoo 3 and the TKC80's, and funny enough, the new price on a Karoo 3 front tyre, which I was quoted, is almost just as much as a TKC80 rear tyre and more expensive that than the Karoo 3 rear tyre? (R2200 for the front vs. R1800 for the back??  :eek7:) Now, it could be, that it is the new price, as a few other places still have them available for R1300, but if that is what the new prices are going to be, would you fit the Karoo 3 or the TKC 80 when their prices are so close to one another, and you are due for a tyre change?

How does the KM's compare between these two?

Karoo 3 front has always been more expensive than the rear. Be thankful though, the rear does not last very long, I get max 5000km. The front on the other hand easily goes far beyond 10000km.

The TKC80 should offer similar or potentially slightly less mileage than the Karoo given past performance but I've never used them on the K50.

Hmmm that is not what I experienced. Just Bike Tyre in Centurion prices are R1739 for rear and R1399 for front. I just had a set fitted at BMW 2 days ago, R1399 for front and R1599 for rear.

We (My son and myself) just paid R 2300.00 for a set of Karroo 3 's each  at our dealer.

Maybe a good price for good customers ?  Don't know

I WOULD RATHER BE AN HONEST ASSHOLE .... THAN A FLIPPEN LIAR !

Ducati 100cc Mountaineer, Honda 550 K3, Suzuki Gs1000E, Suzuki Gs1000G, Suzuki 1100 Katana, BMW R1100RT, BMW R1150RT,,,,,All gone. Only 2014 ST in the garage at the moment... And Honda XL 600

I guess that was for 110 & 150 and not the 120 & 170. The latter tends to cost closer to R4000 than R3000.

I agree, also saw that the pre-LC tyres (hence narrower) were cheaper, even though the wider set is now R2998.
