WC-To XT Bash

9 of us met up at the Engen Wynlands  Garage at 07h00 ,It wasnt necessary to wait for the departing time of 08h00 as every one was there bright and early and rearing to go,
The first hick up was that the Bree River was over the bridge

So we couldn't do the Elandia Pad, but we just took and alternative dirt road and made good time to Montague for last fuel before Ladysmith/

The veld was very dry though , even after all the rain we had in Cape Town , very little made it out there.
Rivers and "stroompies" were dry and dams very low.

The roads have been improved a lot and they have been dredging the silted up rivers and re-enforcing river banks to protect the .roads/

So lets play ! who can ride up that bumpy bank ?

Its a pleasure for me to take riders ,that havent been down some of the roads that I know   , and to see the expressions and hear the excitement in their  voices is priceless.

The Rouxpos road is such a road !

Such a road is Groenfontein Road from Carlitzdorp , in the shadow of the Swartberg Mountains .
Tight , narrow roads that wind their way along the pictures t valley,

Then back up to the R62 , past the most amazing rock formations and  Red Stone B & B
After hitting the R62, We turned left and travelled 7.5 km and then a RH at Smits Winkel



Where we stopped and had ostrich Burgers on Roester Koek , well priced and very friendly
