Advise needed on connecting Gps. on 640

Hey guys. I want to connect my Garmin 650 to one of the two spare plugs under the fairing (Above head lights). Can I do it?

Honda XR 650L, Royal Enfield 500 classic, TVS APACHE 180, Ktm 640 adventure R, Yamaha XT250.

Measured 12v on both, when ignition is on. Going to give it a go.

Wobble I don't know much about this but if I was doing this I would put a second fuse after the plug with the right amp suited for the gps say the gps is 5amp and that 12v is 20amp could be a problem like I say I don't know much but I know that you get 12volt with different amp if you know this already sorry I need to do the same thing on my 690 good luck let us know

Hey Martin!.  Thank you for the advise! The Garmin mount and wiring harness has a built in fuse. Fellow Dogs should always safe guard any circuit with an additional fuse.

Cool I need to run a external power supply on my 690 for gps cell phone ect

Maybe read this first, I have a hella on mine but I haven't had a chance to trace the source yet.

Ha, excellent timing! I forgot about this thread. Mine got stripped today, I need to inspect wiring and general check that all is ok.

My gps was wired to the spare plug but was always on. Not ideal if you forget to switch it off so I decided to connect it to the ignition and move it from the handlebar to the cubby above the clocks as in the photos.
