I call the SANRAL hot line and deactivate my account.....no problem sir just please return the etag within a month or we will bill you r150 rand.....

Reason I terminated my membership is that I am gatvol of Sanral and they stole 40 bucks from me and refuse to reimburse me....so I don't wish to do business with a company like that...

Viva the resistance viva.....my brothers let's go burn the gantries , pillage their offices...we will stand shoulder to shoulder with vavi , juju an the ghosts of freedom fighters past.......viva .....

The question is - why did you buy the tag in the first place?

Next: Didn't you BUY the tag for R50? So it is your property? just asking.......

Welcome to the tagless, btw  :thumleft:

I wouldn't rely too much on Vavi ICM ...... seems rather laid back since he's back in office again.

Well as some of you know I am working for ER24 and is contracted as a biker medic to Sanral. I registered my bike when the the system went life and I had numerious problems because the tag and numberplate could not correspond. The standard mount on the klr numberplate makes it inmpossible for the cameras to read automatically and it goes to the violation centre for 'either hidden plate or else'. Even when you have a tag the tag, numberplate and virtual image must correspond or it will go to the violation centre. So even after having the privelage to walk straight to the various mannagers it took them 3 monsths to rectify the problem and I was reimbursed. However, I sold the KLR and de registered it. Gave the tag and motorbike brackets back. No problem to de activate an account at any service station. Just a small correction: you don't buy a tag when you give them R50 for one, for it already has got R50 prepaid on it. The tag remain their property, read the contrackt. You don't pay for the tag, you pay for the 'prepaid' on the tag.
Anaway, I have decided not to register my Transalp but must admit, I don't use their roads with my bike anymore. I got a very good alternative from Midrand to Brits and the traffic is not keeping me on the bike.
Like I mentioned before, the only bebefit I ever experienced from an e tag is that those of us who sometimes uses the Bakwena tollroads (boom oppertaed) have perk to sidestep the long quee's and go through the auto e'tag bay.
Time will tell but I can't really see it fail up here in Gauteng because gov pension funds were invested into this, thousands of jobs created etc.
Still many fights and a long road for 'etolli'  :xxbah:

Ahhh, ok, I thought you would buy the tag. Makes sense now, you buy the "airtime" and get the tag on loan
