I do have preferences... and reasons for it, albeit superficial maybe... for example. I prefer Japanese ICE vehicles, because I perceive a sense of perfectionism among them. Stoopid examples, Toyota and Honda has not yet brought out turbo petrol models, where other have followed suit, even Mazda is lagging behind the 'new technology'. I think they resist because they are purists at heart, and that's the kind of engineer I want to design the engine of my vehicle. See 2SD, I'm on your side

I also like the Germans...haha! That's again my perception. Why does German products say on the label in bold with a German flag to boot" mad in Germany". Because, I think, there is a perception that products made in Germany are quality made...however, you get Opel that's German, and the old citi golf (volkwagen) which needed an overhaul at 160-180k km. I'm not particularly a BMW fan, i think their snobs and arrogant. but again, that's my perception - but I must admit, they know how to build engines.
In the end..how do we 'know' anything? very little can we be sure of.. even scientific knowledge remains man's interpretation of the world. With that in the end, I'd want to know the vision of a company, what is in their hearts? Is the MAIN thing what it is supposed to be? or..are their other priorities? Are they passionate about producing a quality bike that is the way they want it, a products they can be proud of? How much research and design? The other day I read about the triumph rocket cruiser, they rode on those bikes and finished 6000 tires, some riding 24/7
http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/triu/triumph_rocket_iii%2004.htmWhy did they do this? I can just imagine that they wanted to be sure, that when this bike was released, it would be what they wanted it to be, and could be ridden reliably..that this bike would not bring shame to the Triumph brand...
Vir die wat lui is om te lees.... ek hou van n Triumph rocket
