1200 LC in the GS Trophy, North America 2014

A few of us are lucky enough to join this event in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  I am looking forward to following the performance of the bikes and riders in challenging conditions.  Looking at the pictures, I see some hills, and looking at the weather, I see some mud.  The combination can potentially be a little hectic.  Watch this space.

How about bringing that number plate home with you and putting it on your local bike and see what kind of response you get?

Congratulations team South Africa on second place!

It was a lot of fun to watch each day's coverage on the facetubes.  They did a horrible job of that two years ago in S. America.  It was like they were trying to keep it a secret or something.

I have a lot of mates there as well as from two years ago (Chad Yoshitomi, Ryan Frazier, Carlo Boffi).  They looked like they had a great time with it.  I tried out for the team two years ago and was happy with 17th out of 56 given I'd only started riding 18 months earlier.  Speaking of which, did you see the guy on team France who says he just got his mc license in January and had not ridden a motorcycle before?  Incroyable!

Jon Beck, one of the video hosts, and I have ridden Baja before.  He's a great photographer and even better rider.  He did a ride through Africa recently too.

Another friend, Blair Young, was riding on team USA.  This time the US qualifying event was only on the east coast instead of both like two years ago so a lot of us skipped it.

I think it would have been nice to see a bit more of the bikes being ridden rather than these goofy activities like paddling a surfboard, pulling a truck, etc...  I know a lot of it is teamwork but this is about motorcycles too.  No video of wheelies, power slides, deep sand, hill climbs, whoops, etc...

Agreed fudypup. I also enjoed the facebook/youtube coverage a lot, but out of the 6min per day cover, there was maybe 2 minutes of riding in it. It still looked like epic fun though, can not even imagine how much fun it would have been!
