Gents, I need help please. My bike did exactly what you described. I stripped all fixed the TB back on. But it still ideal between 3000 and 4000rpm. Have got any other checks? Ktm workshop explained that they need to plug-in and check. They think my TB and a "sensor" is not synchronised. It is a 2012 model. Thanks
Throttle positioning sensor needs a clean perhaps?
Not sure on the 690 but you should be able to open it and clean it with some Carb Cleaner.
