Gents, I need help please. My bike did exactly what you described. I stripped all fixed the TB back on. But it still ideal between 3000 and 4000rpm. Have got any other checks? Ktm workshop explained that they need to plug-in and check. They think my TB and a "sensor" is not synchronised. It is a 2012 model. Thanks

Throttle positioning sensor needs a clean perhaps?

Not sure on the 690 but you should be able to open it and clean  it with some Carb Cleaner.

KTM advised that the problem is one of the TB side sensors, needs to be replaced . Unfortunately KTM only sell the complete TB (R10 500). The sensor is not sold separate!!! WTF!!!.
