A Journey of a 1000 Miles
« on: September 03, 2014, 11:25:10 pm »
So I went on a 6100km ride in December 2013 and never reported it, so here goes.!  :imaposer:  :thumleft:

Ok, I know it is 9 months late  ::)  ::)  ;)  ;D

The Main Trips
Trip 1 Walvis Bay to Boksburg - 2130km
Trip 2 Boksburg to Cape Town - 2050km
Trip 3 Cape Town to Walvis Bay - 1920km

All packed and ready and to go on a 20 day 6100km ride

Day 1 14 December 2013 Walvis Bay to Stampriet - 568km
Stopped for a water break in the Kuiseb Canyon before tackling the awful section of road between the Canyon and Solitaire. I dont know what it is about this section of road but it always gets me worked up although I have rode it about 50 times already. Whenever we ride this road we always stop here for a break and a bit of a chat before we proceed to Solitaire and also on the way to Walvis Bay.

Arrived at Solitaire and stopped for fuel and something to eat before proceeding to Stampriet. Solitaire has the most delicious apple pie that you have ever tasted and is a must stop destination.

After a long first day ride I arrived at Gondwana Kalahari Farmhouse in Stampriet where I will sleep for the night. Tent erected kit removed and ready for a good nights rest.

The end of the first day, everything went well with no incidents.

Nee man, tussen jy en Schalk met julle Nambi rondgeryery maak julle nie mooi met 'n man nie.  My sleutelbord is al nat gekwyl.

En terloops, moenie ons 'n rat voor die o probeer draai nie: 6100 km is 3790 myl  >:D   :lol8:

Guys I want to apologise for not posting again. I was called up for a Oil Rig project in Koega, Port Elizabeth. I got the call at 08:00 and checked in at Walvis Bay International 11:00. I did not even got a gap to have koffie this morning. The project duration is only 28 days which means 24/7, but I will try to post in the evenings.
