What a day, or rather 5 hours fighting mud  :xxbah: :lol8:

The trucks will get damaged and we decided to go back to the feedlot and service our vehicles ready to go coming  Wednesday.

The guys are not happy but understand that in farming nature has got the last word. Seems we will not even see 100 working hours for this 2 week pay period

Sections and quarters make it very easy to navigate.

True, as well as N, E, S & W!!  :thumleft:
Every direction you'll get as 7 miles north of the current field, and 1 mile east.
All the routes (streetnames) are either A, B, C or AA and then 1S, 2S and so on.
All gravel roads are WELL maintained as well as the shoulders.

After a week of no work we finally got word to proceed with chopping tomorrow and then after this 2 fields we will move back to Syracuse Kansas to help another team chop 800 acres of Milo.

The Milo should freeze this weekend which will make many fields ready for harvesting but we only do silage

If the silage stops smoke we expect we should ride manure again in another town in Kansas for the remainder of the time or so it seems for now.

We may be through all the work by the 16th of Nov and if that is the case I'll keep my ticket for the set flying date of 27 and 28 Nov and buy another return to Orlando to visit the Zogs but for now it remain a dream. If that happens I'll go visit the Kenedy Space station!!
Would the feedlot/manure job perhaps be south of Sylvia?

We don't know yet, all we know it's about halfway between Cimarron and Kansas Minneapolis.

Oh, and if you ask around Syracuse if they know Floyd farms...that is where we did quite a lot of custom cutting in 2001.

And the son that was up for murder - ma Betzen asked me very nice not to bliksem him the one day. Perhaps a goeie pakslae would have helped the young may straighten his ways?

We did our biggest work this year at Syracuse and going back for Milo at the same Dairy.
This dairy is Huge and the owner originated from Holland - great guy and he loves the Saffers.  :thumleft:

... now where's the fun in that  ::)

Glad you had a good rest, Tom, and I'll hold all thumbs and fingers you get to visit the Zogs.

Yes Ri a visit to the Zogs will put the cherry on the cake  :thumleft:

Since the fields are still to wet for silage chopping Jimmy and I decided to go for a walk to Thomson park in Guymon Oklahoma. Round trip of 5 miles.

Quite a noce park to take kids or even the family for a picnic and even some fishing. Unfortunately we also spotted a turtle dead with a fishing line in the mouth  :'(

It was a lekker walk and I took a couple of pics for a change. Bringing my camera to the silage job was a bit of a wate since I never knew we will get little to no time off except for the rain and later (next month) snow but I may get to use it later in Nov perhaps!

Ja man, I remember the name Guymon and had a look on the map.

When you enter toen from the north, at some point you cross some railroad tracks? Iirc it was a dry county aswell?

We.stayed in a rv park on the north side of town, righthand side of the road.(west). And the silo's is also in the area?

You right bud, and we are in the same RV park  :lol8:

Safe albeit not even upmarket and even a tad rundown, we don't even lock the Rv and like said before we don't even have a key.  :imaposer:

I like Guymon a lot. Friendly people all over that make you feel welcome.  :thumleft:

We worked 10.5 hrs and finished our 7 tower pivot corn. We have another one left for tomorrow and then well leave Friday morning for Kansas Syracuse to chop a few hundred acre milo for the dairy.
Then maybe back here for another 2.5 pivots of milo.
We get paid biweekly and because of the rain and wet field we only have a total of 83hrs bit it is still fair. Hoping for a better 2 weeks now. :ricky:

Pok tomorrow I need to make time to fix 2 x punctures on my Tractor :-[
Once you need to pump twice a day it's time to fix. :) ;D
One of my old Affhani buddies sent me a picture today taken April 2012 in Afghanistan. ....pok how time flies, almost didn't recognize myself second from left  :lol8:

Lekker to feel tired but happy at the end of the day, I am having good days in America!

I was under the impression that using compressed air to clean filters is not good as it forces dust into the "filtering holes"?

Fair question  :)

But the chopper is service intensive compared to a semi truck.
I also believe in teamwork and volunteer to help wherever needed Chris  :thumleft:
.....while some hide and text the girlfriends on whatsapp   :lol8:

Blowing out air filters with compressed air:

No proof ever that if done right will cause an issue.
Blow from inside out, never from outside in.
Always check for any signs of wear.
No engine has got any damage in years of service, and once a guy forgot to put filter back after service and used truck one day without. A week later engine packed up...gone, done.  :3some:

The manufacturer of filters and vehicles will tell you don't blow out an air filter, but trust me you can do so safely without an issue and these farmers can't afford too many mistakes.  :thumleft:
