Stay warm, stay safe  :thumleft:
Young enough to know I can, old enough to know I shouldn't, stupid enough to do it anyway.

Stay warm, stay safe  :thumleft:

We have made it, and the snow moved fw and in the forecast for tonight.
It was around 34 degrees farenheit, around 2 degrees Celsius with a breeze.
Not terribly cold, but it was also drizzling and everything was wet.
However, we were in good spirit and one great team  :thumleft:
Pictures of Nicolaass (South African buddy that we called in to help) and me.

No Chris, half correct with the ground resting while being fertilized.
The farmers do test samples and then our agronomists works out what blend they need and we come and apply.
The snow should not affect this, but most farmers will wait it out for wind still and fair weather conditions. Some dont mind us spreading in the snow, but then the wind speed nust obviously  be low enough to get a near perfect and even application.

Some farmers go with cover crop like ray and so on and we can also plant their fields by air using the crop spray plane with modified fine seed applicator.

Sorry for cellphone pics but you get the idea
The ground is frozen so we dont rip up the field and cause damage.
We had to stop halfway through the day because of that, but tonight it will be minus 10 degrees Celsius and tomorrow everything will be frozen solid and the operations can continue.
Farmers can pick (run the harvesters) as well on frozen soil.
Our facility is now close to 9 million bushels and we will without a doubt go over 10 million.
That at an overall yield of 170 bushels per acre, gives you an idea how big farming America is right? We are only 1 facility, and we have over 60 in the company but bear in mind some are real small and only house maybe 5 x 400 000 bushel steel bins and then obviously also an agronomy section.
Train is now 4 am so we can get some shut eye at least  :)

Coverall's is the thing you need for physical work in the cold, but very expensive and I was waiting it out hoping to either get it on a special or maybe configure something with my clothing which is cheaper and effective.
Yesterday a guy walked up to me and asked: where is your coveralls buddy? That's what you need.
I said; yes sir I'll have to invest in a pair.
He scanned me, walked back to his truck and returned with a new one which he never used because maybe it's a tad too small for him....dont know. Just gave it to me and said "happy Christmas "
Thank you sir!!  :thumleft:

Carhart is the best Chris, in everything. Maybe a tad expensive but outlast everything else with atleast 50% if not longer.
There is a place called Orchelins that stock them products in Marysville.
I got a pair of their boots as well.

Gary that coveralls (brand he gave me) is now usd 100!! Indeed a lot of money, but after wearing them today on a 14.15 hrs shift I know why they are so popular. Never did I feel this comfortable in cold weather before! Strange thing, it only covers the legs, abdo and partially back. Maybe because of the heat in the femoral artery area....that's what we've been told on a survival course years back.

I did submit the picture for the competition and best of all; straight from my cellphone and what you see here is a cropped screen shot.
The price is usd 50 fuel voucher at one of our fuel stations, so I'll end up giving it to a buddy anyway if I win.  :thumleft:
