Whilst trying to organise my pictures I found a couple more on the DRC - illustrating road conditions.
The Cruiser with the blue light on the roof was my Ambulance.  :)

Ok so I happened to literally run into this physiotherapist, and no she also says I need to go see the specialist first and let him diagnose but in the interim se advised I go work on my core strength.
Joined the gym in Brits for 30 days and best of all, it was like medicine for my soul. I was no more lonely at least for more than an hour!   8)

My son and his girl (she already feels like family) also gym but they are next level!! 😅

Hello Wd's

Last night I got 2 x e-mails from my recruitment agent "Amazing Golden opportunities '
We needed to pay the Visa application at usd 190 (roughly R3k) and do the online registration and confirmation which was yet again quite something.
This is now my 3rd season, the first was just harvesting season and only 3.5 months and last year 10 months at Farmers Coop.
So I have made the payment, got all the required paperwork and passport in an envelope and tomorrow morning I'll post it at DHL Pretoria and hope that the Embassy approves
We should be set to travel on the 15th of Feb if the international travel boarder remains open to the States.
Currently you are not allowed to enter via Europe, so either a very expensive direct flight to Atlanta or through the middle East.

Tomorrow after my DHL stop I need to go to Wilgers hosp to see the orthopaedic specialist for my back.
That was a long wait, this appointment was made possible because of a WD vriend.
So in a way I'm a bit nervous, not sure why. Maybe because I'm worried that it may be something serious like a herniated disk, or maybe because I'm a bit shy and don't feel comfy with someone examining my body but I should finally get diagnosed and learn how we can get it fix or adapt my lifestyle.

One thing that is certain: I need to go back, work ad earn a living.
I have been doing catchup for quite a while in my life and finally happy with the progress I have made and my discipline not to spent unnecessary.
I got to help my daughter with a car and that warms my heart that I was in a position to help. I also spent quite a bit of money on a new refrigerator yesterday bit mine was not making cold anymore except for the freezer compartment.
I was tempted, and I feel it's natural but I did not buy a newer model or more dirt orientated bike for myself. Yes it's tempting, but it does not make sense.
What makes sense is to get a little car for myself but I'll do that next time around if all goes well.

Regardless of how much I love the States and my work I was so hoping to find something here, but sadly nothing. I wouldn't have felt like dropping my employer if I did come right simply because there are so many other people that are even more capable than me to replace me.
Anyway, I'll go back in give 110%!!

Must say it is not cheap to go out on a H2A Visa these days; the total cost to get there is over R40k
The farmer or Coop will reimburse your Visa on the first paycheck, half your flight ticket halfway through the contract and the last half on the last pay check. The R10k comprehensive travel insurance is the only cost you don't get back. Many guys qualify but can't affort the initial cost layout to go.

Good night  :thumleft:

Sterkte met al die logistiek Tom...so jammer dat ons vaardighede en harde werk in hierdie land nie altyd die nodige erkenning en vergoeding kry nie.

@Garreths it is Liesl du Plessis, got here here on WD's through reference: liesl.cmac@telkomsa.net

My Travel insurance broker: Wybrand Lubbe +2782568one8seven4 - take the R10k option, maybe now slightly more
Good reason for this - you know a lot can go wrong so rather be on the safe side.

Good luck Tom and I trust all will go well!
My Dr. wanted to book me off, with possible medical disability if no improvement, but then gave me a lot of lifestyle changes and things to do and NOT do and 12 years later, I still get some days when my back hurts, but I can work a normal day with my hands!
Interesting, stress relief is the main thong that helped me as it relaxes the muscles and helps to keep the spasms away!
It is also the most difficult to do, but I took the viewpoint that my kinds are grown and I need to look after myself now as a first priority!

So professional, what a blessing to have a medical insurance in SA albeit a lower plan.
Currently waiting at MRI scan - dr pointed out some damage from L1 throught to L5 mainly due to my shortened Left leg and resulting in speeding the age related normal degeneration.
Well know after the MRI and the follow up consultation later today.
