Sorgum comes in different cultivars, some used specifically for silage and very popular and economical especially on dryland grown for feedlots - like they say here " growing beef's opposed to milo which is just as valuable for various other human food products.
I hope that helps. I was also a bit confused and still are at times but learning a lot here in the States.

Last night I did not make it in time to the elevators and my boss phoned me just as I enjoy my Jake turning off the freeway. He said sorry you are missing it, they texted and notified they close and hour earl9today so I am on my way to get you since I don't want you to haul a full load back. Just park the truck in an open area near the elevators. Si there my Kenworth stands with a full load of milo (worth roughly close to usd 10k) and all we did was putting the key out of sight in the truck.
I know I will find it all ok now now.

Chris thanks for the info on Massey and Fendt, that explains it all.
I am (have become) a big CLAAS fan when it comes down to combines and silage choppers, and on the tractors I sure like Fendt and JD a lot!!

Glad the Bokke won the world cup!!  :laughing4:

The elevators are only opening tomorrow at 12pm to 6pm.
The guys asked the boss if they can go out tonight and celebrate the world cup rugby win and start working late, he said all good.
I am however low battery and decided to braai that steak and have an early night.
That Angus steak was delicious with a few French fries!

I got this from fb but thought it best describes my learning curve and career change in the states.
Like said earlier, the bos has invited me back but there are some rumors that things will or may change sadly due to a divorce and business partner.
However; since I got cdl I can always come back on an H2a visa if someone wants me on a farm next season.
Time will tell but I'm positive that things will work out good  :thumleft:

The boss told the guys to go celebrate the bokke victory and I was just (like always) wasted after a days work and hit the sack at 11pm. Woke up early like always and dressed to go to the Rock city in Minneapolis KS. Armand woke and asked me he wants to join, we are good friends.

Enjoyed it but all my pics still on the fujifilm xt30 and I will get to that sometime. Armand got a good cellphone camera and I can share this pics.

Then we came back to the field to start work at 11am. Busy loading my second load of milo for the day.  :)

If we were not in a bit of a rush I would have captured much better pics.
I have only recently changed to fujifilm camera gear after trading the Nikon gear and not fingerfit.
Still happy with the results and sure a fascinating sighting!!
