I was driving another truck this week, and on cloud 9 for driving 2 weeks!
Unfortunately it is a temporary arrangement but like they say; enjoy it while it lasts.
I do not get to take pictures that often, in fact hardly ever and I am now even more relieved that Martin has advised me not to go the 'expensive new camera' route since although I take extremely good care of this secondhand Fujifil XT1 it rides with me in the truck and wherever I go, it fits in my lunch bag (in it's own camera bag of course) so no hassle to take it with but I often need to leave it unattended and nobody will guess that there is a usd 650 camera in there. Yes it is very safe here and I never here of crime but you never know, rather save than sorry.
I was off since noon yesterday, and all 3 of us living in the same house took a nap to try and catch up on sleep and then we had a nice braai with a couple of beers.
Today I just worked in the garden, and I am just plain lazy and just browse a bit on the laptop doing nothing much at all.
The thing I really miss is being able to go places, since our company vehicles are branded we are not allowed (obviously) to go to some events like fir instance the car races last night. I was so hoping one of the local work colleagues will go and take me woth since I have mentioned that if anyone got an extra seat ill contribute gas money and be the designated driver but unfortunately nada.
If I get called back next year ill buy me a usd 2k car just to be able to go places. 2 of our team this year have done it and I can see it definatly add value to their lives.
Yes I got a bicycle but never use it anymore since Marysville where i live is in the flinthills and that is just up and down, rolling hills all the way and I just lack the stamina when im off duty for more physical work......yes I hardly ever run, maybe once a week a 5km and thats it

PS: All the pictures were taken in very bad light conditions, hazy and warm late afternoon but I have tried to make it a bit presentable.
