Bike ceases to function
« on: September 14, 2014, 01:33:48 pm »
We were out on the wife's bike yesterday when all of a sudden it cuts out, dies, absolutely no sign of life present. Luckily we were only a few k's from home so it wasn't too much of a problem. We've stripped it down, checked all the connections etc, but nothing obvious leaps out. Battery is perfect. It's a 2001 Freewind, so basically a DR 650 with added plastic. Would be grateful for any suggestions.

Also check the fuses, Happend to me a couple of times, the fuse breaks but does not blow, replaced the fuse and walla.
I have also bridged out my side stand switch, that could also be the problem.
(I also ride a freewind)

Clutches also have switches. Also breach that out.

Thanks guys for the response...seems like the sort of problem a cutout switch may cause, now that you mention it.  Will hopefully get a chance to look at it sometime this week.
