What replacement fuel pump ?
« on: September 16, 2014, 11:00:03 am »
How do you remove the fuel pump ? Dropped it half out and pulled the black plastic cover off, now how do you get the actual pump off ? And where to get a replacement.
My inj keeps getting blocked, 5 times now. big mission stripping bike to blow it clean, ran a magnet in pump filter and there is very fine mettal residue, could be the were of the impella on the pump so think i should replace but KTM are mad with the price.

I bought a Chinese job of eBay.  Was about R300.  Best idea is to fit a Polaris FI filter externally where the Quick release is located.  That will catch all the bits.

Surely if I was obsessed with motorcycles I’d have more than one; no two; no three; no no, four… ah, never mind…

The Golan will certainly work, but its about R500 - 600 landed.  The Can Am / Polaris filter is R190.  I buy it from the local quad agents.  Its a bit bigger, but will easily last 10 000 km between replacements.  I replace it once a year (just before Amageza) because I refill from cans.
