Your thoughts on Big Boy XTG 200 please?
« on: September 16, 2014, 01:07:43 pm »
My GFs daughter is turning 18 in December and we are thinking of getting her a 2nd hand Big Boy XTG 200 bike.

The bike would be used to get to school and around town.

It is a 2012 model, never been off-road, previous owner a lady, only done 1200km, perfect condition, new battery and just been serviced.

SPECS:
    2.8 litres / 100km at 70km/h
Service Intervals: 500km thereafter every 3000km or every 6 months
    Cruising Speed 60-80km/h / Top Speed 95km/h
    5-Speed, 10,8kw
    Front disc brake
    NEW PRICE = R13 500

What would you say a fair price would be?

Null....

Look, I know this is not your kid but why don't you love her? What did she ever do to you to deserve such treatment....

:thumleft:

sounds like we can perhaps get it for R6k  ???

I just have zero knowledge/experience with these bikes, but there seem to be quite a few around

That's a knockoff of the Yamha 250, looks almost identical. I'm with Garfield, between R7-9K sounds worthwhile.
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

If you're dumb you gotta be tough !!!

Praat met Megapix. Dink hy het een gehad.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

I would rather stay away from Big Boy. My son had 125 a Speed. Looked well after it,but alas, it turned out that that Big Boy actually means Big Trouble. The dealer I bought the bike from well it is better to rather say nothing ........
Never underestimate an old biker who was born in May

as long as you dont expect a japanese bike for chinese type money you will be okay

i have my little 200cc zongshen and i like it

it is my emergency wheels  :ricky:

numerous times i thought about selling it then realise i can get nothing for it - so i'm just keeping it

whenever my other wheels are under maintenance i start her up and she is always ready to roll  :ricky:

they are cheap as chips to keep on the road - parts and running costs are dirt cheap

yeah, they seem to cost less than a third of the comparable Jap bike, so comparing quality/technology etc. would be naive
