610 TE with 50,000 miles on
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:03:47 pm »
Just saw a thread where the guy has done 50,000 miles on his 610 and decided to strip her down and rebuild
Damb that's awesome for a 610 motor imo ::)

You cannot compare it to a XT660 or a F650GS.

They will do 100 000km+ no issues.

You should compare it to a DRZ400 and for them to get to 50k miles they would require 3.5 rebuilds :P

 I agree but still never thought it would even get close to that kind of km

Nope its actually a low revving motor but puts out a whack of torque for as little 575cc. Most of the reports I read we looking at about 45,000 km then new ring and piston to make it happy again  ::)

About the same for a DRZ, 50 000km and you need a new piston. The bottom end will go on forever, not so for the ones who never bother to check oil correctly.

There is a guy from South America somewhere that is on ADV rider quite often, I think he has done more than 50k miles. I suppose it is like that with everything, if you look after your bike, service regularly with good oil etc then there is no reason for it to not last for a long time and many km's

I ride my 610 like I stole it, cannot help myself, it just invites hooliganism. Open the throttle and hang on! Been doing it for 15000km's. It goes like stink and I doubt of it will expire at 20 000, 30 000 or more. Maybe there are some woes grannies out there..... :lol8:
