690 Owners advise pls
« on: September 23, 2014, 09:19:46 am »
After Sunday ride, i noticed this white resdue on front of bike, has a bit of oily texture. I did fill, or even over fill the water bottle and add some coolant to it also. We did a lot of slow tech rideing an dthe fan was going, so not sure if it boiled or over flowed. What else could it be?

Looks as if it can by anti freeze look if your fan didnt damage the radiator on the inside

I agree does appear as if the fan has been clipping the radiator.
The reason is because you have been riding so slowly lately that your fan is faster than your bike :pot:

On a serious note, this could of started when you did that tits up trick in the rocks & hurt your leg?
If it is your radiator,  take it to Clayton at TR Tech.

I spaced mine away from my radiator with 6mm fender washers when I put my kit on, was on of the issues with a 690 I read about on the forum.

Check where your overflow pipe is pointing, hopefully thats the issue.
Start the bike and let it idle till the fancomes on, you will soon have an answer.
Motorsport is the only sport, the rest are just GAMES!!

I had a hole in the overflow pipe that caused that check that first. I hope it is only that.

That can only be the headlight fluid leaking out - you better replace the headlight gasket and pressure lens seal before the lights run out
The older I get the faster I was
