So Noneking, tell us.  What is like to stay in a part of the world where there are always nice routes to take, any time of the year and why you should not have to pay extra tax for such a privilege?   ;D

Over the long weekend I travelled to Umburu Mountain cabin on the Rankins Pass Road. This post is however not so much about the destination as it is about the journey. The road leading out of Bela Bela at this time of year has severe corrugation, loose gravel, marble sized stones and fist sized rocks in places. One corner in particular surprizes you with all of the above. Upon hearing from our hosts that the road is not suitable for a car, Lereze and I decided to take Knormoer. We packed for six days and headed out on Wednesday. I have to explain that Lereze has travelled with me on many dirt roads of varying quality and has never once complained. When we arrived at Umburu, she dismounted and told me that for the first time ever, she was nervous.

You may wonder then what my point is. Simply, I think the suspension on my bike is awesome!! With rider, pillion, fully loaded panniers and topbox it handled every challenge we encountered with ease. The corrugation was so bad at some point, Lereze complained that it felt as if her brain was bouncing around her skull. We travelled between Bela Bela and Umburu another four times before leaving on Monday without incident.

No headshake of any sort riding at speeds between 60 and 120 km/h, never bottomed out when I hit rocks and/or potholes, no bent rims or even punctures. In short, no issues at all.

I love my LC!!

Netjies, LK!  :thumleft:

Net 'n issue as dit ren, verder het dit volgens my bitter min voordele. :peepwall:
