Saturday morning HSK and I decide to errr, sleep in a bit  It was a big night after all! We spend the day having a few cold ones in the sun. I brave the water and take a quick dip in the pool. We have a really rustige day.

In the evening we get together for the prize giving. Both me and HSK are so lucky! I win a tool tube. Now I'm not good at the tool stuff, so I'll probably just use the tool tube for my lady things. A bottle of vodka also seems to fit in there no problem :P
HSK wins 2 nights accommodation in Sutherland! Wow, now that is an awesome prize! We will definitely plan a trip around that one soon.

Congratulations on winning a tool tube Minxy! With compliments of West Coast Parts in Cape Town. I wanted to deliver them myself but had to deal with resistance from SWAMBO - enough said :pot:

Jinne, jy ry daai sand darem lekker!  :thumleft: The rear wheel is all over the place but you keep the front wheel planted. Kudos! :ricky: How fast were you going?
BoosterPlug, LED Spots, Tool Tubes, RustStop, Kappa Screens, Top boxes, Tank Bags, ATG Gear - whatever works for me.

I reluctantly drag myself out of bed Sunday morning. Awww, we have to go home already!? Where did the time go :(
We greet everyone and I force myself to do that long stretch of road between Askham and Van Zyls again. Luckily I remember to pair my phone and play some music on the Sena this time so it goes quick.

We stop at Van Zyls Rus hotel for a brekkie.

Me and Bushtrotter

KevinZA

HSK

We do another familiar road and then split off in the Vryburg direction. Some beautiful white hard compacted dirt highways here. I broke my own personal speed record on one of these. 170kmph! The roads are just sooooo good, such a smooth surface it feels like you are riding on tar. I got a bit scared though and backed down to 130kmph again, a much more comfortable speed for me.
There's a few more interesting bits where we do some riverbed kinda riding, and quite a bit more sand roads passing through little settlements. I really enjoy that. Unfortunately we didn't have time to stop and take many pictures, we just had so much distance to cover and tried to make up the time.

A quick stop at the T330 turn off.

Swifty on his SE and Smokes on his 990R at the back.

Bushtrotter and Franna

Stopping for fuel, Minxy, Swifty, Franna and Bushtrotter

Stopping at the shebeen for a cold one, with HSK

Franna: "Oh yeh! Time for a beer!!!"

We stop over at Klondike in Vryburg for our last night. Spend the time relaxing, swimming and having another braai :)

Hehe, thank you so much! It is an awesome prize, It's something I will definitely use  :thumleft:
It is too bad you missed out on the bash though, it was so much fun! Will just have to see you there next time.
Regarding the video, it could have been anything between 95-120kmph. I am not 100% sure. The wheel was really bogging down in the deep sand.

Last day of the trip :'(

What can I say, lots of dirt highway heading home. We pretty much leave the sandy roads behind at this stage. Now I don't usually complain about dirt highways, but when they are littered with crappy embedded rocks that you constantly need to keep an eye out for... Then I complain :P
As there's a lot of tar on the planned route, Swifty decides to take us up some other roads. We stumble upon an awesome route hugging the railroad near some townships. The last little stetch is tar, taking us on a lovely scenic route past Sterkfontein caves and eventually to the highway back home.

I'd just like to thank:
-Kilroy and co for making the bash happen.
-Swifty for putting in the time and effort into the routes and planning.
-The backup drivers who carried our bags, fuel and goodies.
-The rest of the Rebels group, you guys rock!!! Each and everyone of you guys contributed to an epic adventure!
-The Wild Dogs, it is awesome to be able to put faces to the forum names now. It was nice meeting you all :)
-My boyfriend HSK, I couldn't have done this without your support and encouragement. I love you big guy!  :love7:

Minxy over and out :D

We have a lekker braai after the prize giving. Everyone has a fun time socializing and just having a good time. At some stage ETS decides to grace us with his dingly bits... Now I don't have any photographic evidence of this occurrence, so it will have to stay as one of those "what happens at the bash, stays at the bash" moments :P
