Spent a lekker morning at Auto Alpina Boksburg.
They laid on a great breakfast and had the full BMW range of bikes available for test riding. My son and I had the chance to ride the S1000RR, S1000R, R-Nine-T, 800 GS & GSA and 1200 LC GS. They also had the K1600 GTL (six cylinder) available, but I didn't get to ride that (my choice, it was available).
Thanks to Mathew Barnes, Alex and the rest of the guys who gave up their Sunday morning.
Turnout was good so I hope they get to sell a few more bikes.
They have a spotless G450X on the floor, already kitted with a long-range tank, which will make a great Amageza ride for somebody younger, fitter and more skilled than I.
Now I'm wrestling with the thought of trading in my 2012 R1200R on a 2014 S1000R. I know the R1200R is a more sensible commuter (more economical for the daily grind) and it's paid for, but the heart says you only live once, get the S1000R.
