Yes that was mine :) Coming back from the wrap people. Tonight she has new electrics on as well. Will try post more pics tomorrow.

Thanks to SteveD, who has very kindly prepped my bike for me giving me time to wrestle my mousses onto multiple flights without too many issues. My used mousses have now travelled nearly 30,000km to be at this rally. They had better last. ::)

Team Nulandis - WON THE 2014 AMAGEZA!
« Reply #30 on: November 13, 2014, 10:51:12 am »
Congratulations to our local rider Hentie Hanekom from Upington for winning the first navigational rally he compete in, the 2014 Amageza.

Coming from a MX GP background he is mesmerizing quick through corners. He reported that the pace was relaxed but very constant at the front.

Hentie is a level headed rider who stays calm and always have a positive attitude. He quickly gained respect for his rival rider, Riaan Van Niekerk and made a few other friends as well.

It was a privilege to be with him in a team. We hope we could have another memorable experience like this together.

Reports and photo's of the other riders to follow.

Geluk aan Hentie!

Hy is 'n lekker ou ook, het vir my sy spaar handskoene geleen 20 min voor die laaste stage toe my een weggeraak het. Sonder dit sou ek maar gesukkel het.

Next up is "Never say Die" Willem Du Toit, (WDT on forum) proud owner of the acclaimed Mercedes Benz and Mitsubishi dealer in Upington. Having done a few races with Willem he had worked up quite an reputation as a very fast and competitive rider who simply does not understand the meaning of giving up.

At the prologue he started a full gymkhana length behind the other riders when his brand new KTM 450 refuse to fire up. Only to catch the other riders before the end with a standing ovation from all the spectators!

As witnessed by the Amageza officials, Willem (on the right of photo) will literally push his bike over a mountain to reached the finish.

From the word go, Willem who came 2nd in the 2013 Amageza, was moving faster through the field than everyone else. Unfortunately his bike gave fuel injector problems before the end of the first stage. This was the start of constant fuel problems for him which also ended his rally in stage 4.

Willem was the one member that made the whole team effort a possibility and also sponsored us the back-up van. Thank you for all the effort you have done for the team. He will be back...  :salut:

Also best of luck with the Roof of Africa event in Desember.
