I had a closer look at my bike this week when I saw a smiley on my back rim and a tear in the sidewall just above it - seems like a rock did a good job. When I took off the wheel to have it replaced, I noticed two serious patches where the rubber was simply torn/ripped out and then also the smaller cracks/tears on about every center knob. This tire has 2500km on.
This is the Mitas E-07 just before they put in the center strip on the new ones - are these small tears/cracks the reason for that strip maybe? I already fitted a new Mitas E-07 (with the new center strip) and will see how it goes.
Rubber that tears like that after only 2500km does not bode well. Anybody else out there that also experienced this?
